Setup
and Installation
Full documentation and install
instructions are included with all Web Wise Sage programs. In order
to install these program, it helps to have a knowledge of how to FTP
files to a webserver, and how to setup a MySQL database. If you're
not confident about FTP and/or MySQL installation, I can quickly
install the system on your website for a minimal setup fee.
Usually, any of the Web Wise Sage
add-ons can be installed within an hour. However, it is possible
that your webserver does not support either PHP or MySQL. If
that's the case, I will have to communicate with your webhost to get
these installed on your website.
Because of this uncertainty, it's
impossible to know exactly how long it will take to install the
package(s.) Thus, I charge $25 per hour for installation fees.
That said, it may help to know that
the vast majority of web hosts offer both PHP and MySQL meaning that
the installation will proceed quickly and smoothly. And thus, $25
will usually be the (minimum) fee I charge to install your package.
In any event, I will contact you
before any installation begins. You will receive an estimate for the
work to be done, and I suspect (based upon previous experience with
many clients) that you'll be more than satisfied.
To have your package installed, you
may use this contact form. You will be asked to provide
the following required information:
- Your domain name (example www.mywebsite.com)
- The username required to publish
to your website.
- The password required to publish
to your website.
- The web address of the
"control panel" for your website
(and it's username and password, if different from the above.)
This information is practically
always sent to you by your webhost, when you sign up for your
website. If you are clueless about where to get this information,
it's actually pretty simple. Just contact your webhost people and
ask for this information.
Note:
some people are reluctant to give out this information as it is the
same as "giving away the keys" to your website. If you're
one of those people, I can give you dozens
of references from clients who have had me work on their website.
You may be sure that I will keep your site information totally
confidential.
