Configuring the Max Affiliate System It's actually quite possible to setup the system with the default configuration. So it's suggested that you familiarize yourself with the Max Affiliate pages and reading about the Login system and the affiliates management, before coming back to configure the system. System Configuration. The system configuration is straight-forward. Here’s how you configure the Max Affiliate system: The first few are all relatively straight-forward. Note the field called Your Max Affiliates URL. This is the URL where you put the Max Affiliates system. It is incredibly important to get this right, because the email that is sent to an affiliate (when they register) has a link in it, that they must click to verify their registration. And it uses this URL. Example: If you put Max Affiliates in a folder on your www.mydomain.com website called maxaff, then you'd fill this field with 'www.mydomain.com/maxaff' and the confirmation URL would be sent as: http://www.mydomain.com/maxaff/verify.php?id=etc Important: Please note that an ending slash MUST NOT BE present. Then comes "How many transactions per page when displayed in Transaction History?" On the Transaction History page, where all the orders credited to an affiliate are being displayed, this number represents how many orders will appear per page. For example, if the affiliate has gotten you 300 orders, you probably don't want all 300 orders to appear on the page display. Thus, you can set this to a lower number (such as 30) and you'll only see 30 orders per page. Each page will have a Next and Back "button" so you can view all those orders. This same number will be used when managing the Accounts and the Affiliates. Next is "Affiliate Percentage of Sale?" Here's how you define the fee to be given to the affiliates. This percentage of your orders is the amount that each affiliate will get. For example, if this number is set to 20, then your affiliates will be credited with 20% of all orders, attributable to them. (Do NOT enter the % sign. Just the number...) Next on the Configuration page is Header HTML for affiliate system pages. And Footer HTML for affiliate system pages. This is the HTML code for the header on each page of the system. It’s how you get the affiliate system pages to match the appearance of the other pages on your website. Each of the system pages will have this header and a footer. In these two fields, you may enter the HTML code for the header and the footer. Note that all href= and all src= html tags must use absolute addressing, i.e., http://something/ Also note the fields called Take Header HTML from this page. And Take Footer HTML from this page. You can use header and footer html from pages that already exist (for example, FrontPage top and bottom borders.) If used, these page must also use absolute addressing.
