Starting Max Affiliates Starting the Max Affiliates SystemTo begin the program, we'll go to the web address of the Max Affiliates system on your website. This will almost always be in the form of: http://www.mydomain.com/maxaffiliates/index.php You'll see an invitation to sign-up to use the system. Or login, if you've already signed-up. The sign-up is straight-forward. You enter First Name, Last Name, Company, Email Address, Mailing Address, and a name to put on affiliate checks. Then choose a username and password. After completing the form, a verification email is sent to the email address used in the sign-up. Only by clicking on a link in that email can the registration be completed. Once completed, the affiliate can login by entering name and password. After entering your userid and password, you come to the "Login Profile" of the Max Affiliates system. This is the main operating page. Here you can change the profile. But the most significant part of the page is the Transaction History button. Here is the list of all orders (transactions) that have come as a result of your promotional efforts. (meaning that it represents all the orders than have come in, with your Reference Number.) It lists the name of the person who made the order, the Order Date and the Amount Paid. Also shown is the amount you are due to receive, plus the amount you have received in the past. Note that this list shows all orders received whether you were paid yet, or not. The status field is either Pending or Complete. A Pending order means one that was started, but not completed (for whatever reasons.) When customers actually pay money, then their order is marked as complete. You may find the payment schedule in the Terms and Conditions. Very important: Affiliates can login and see the orders (transactions) that they are responsible for generating, and only their own orders. But the administrator can view ALL the orders from any affiliate. And thus delete, etc. The administrator is the person who has the login userid of 'admin'. Thus, it is important that you signup with the admin userid as soon as the system is installed. Then, when you login, in your Profile, you will see two extra buttons for viewing affiliates and orders. No one but the admin user will have these two buttons there. Let's look at these two buttons: Admin Accounts This is a list of all who have registered to be your affiliates. It lists your affiliate's name, company name (if any) and total that they are owed, as a result of their promotions. By clicking on the Affiliate Name in the first column, you may see all the details about that particular affiliate, including a list of all the orders attributable to that person. Note that the first line on this page says, Non-Affiliates Details. This is where you can go to see your Order History for all orders NOT attributable to an affiliate, i.e., any other visitor to your website. It is arranged in the same format as the affiliates Order History. Like so... The Order History page is a list of all the orders attributable to a given affiliate. It lists what was ordered, the date of the order and the amount of the order. Also listed is the Fee owed to your affiliate, plus any fees paid in the past. The Status means whether the order is Pending or Complete. (pending orders are failed orders -- they may be safely removed.) You can delete an order by checking the box(es) in the Remove? column. Note that you can click on the orders in the first column to get a detailed list of what was ordered by the customer. The PAID column is used to mark that the affiliate has been paid. The standard way to use this page is to periodically list all these orders for each affiliate; then use the detail at the top of the page to see where to send payment checks. The total amount owed is at the bottom. Once the payments have been sent, you check the orders as having been paid. If you no longer wish to retain the order history, you can delete selected orders. Admin Affiliates Here is the list of all people who have signed up as your affiliates. You can click on their name to see the details about the particular affiliate. The Refnum column is the Reference Number they have been assigned. The Status is either P (for pending) or V (for verified.) A pending member has signed up, but didn't confirm their registration in the email they were sent. Whereas a verified memeber DID confirm their registration. Note the Delete? column. Here's how you can remove an affiliate, if you want to. This should be a rare action, unless the affiliate has gone against the rules and regulations that you specified in the Terms and Conditions window. Now, let’s look at how to setup your webpages to gather the Affiliates Reference Number, so they can get credited for the orders.... |
