Overview of the Max Comments System When you publish an article or page on your website, your readers can leave comments about the page they've just read. All you need do is put a couple lines of Javascript code where you want the reader comments to appear. Before a reader can leave comments, they must login. Which means they must sign up the first time they use Max Comments. Thereafter, they can leave comments upon any page which has the Javascript coding. Note that you, the webmaster, will receive an email the first time a comment is left on that page. This allows you to oversee all comments and edit/remove any offensive ones. (That option is configurable; you can turn it off, if you wish.) The first time you enter the Max Comments program, you'll go to a configuration program, where you can choose all the options for running Max Comments. And the configuration program will tell you if your webhost is setup to run Max Comments properly. Note: It is suggested that this documentation be read while you have the Max Comments program operating in another window, so you can follow along. Next, we’ll look at the details of how to install the system. If you have had someone else install the system, and configure it for you, and all you want to do is start adding comments to pages, then you can skip right to Setting Up Comments on Pages. |
