When you press the Create Links Pages button in the Control Panel, you create the links pages. Initially, you see a list of the categories you have. You can choose to create one or several links pages by checking the Create checkbox next to that category, and then hit the Create Checked Links Page(s) at the bottom.

OR you can create all of them at once, by pressing the Create All Pages button.

Also note that you can create the main index page by pressing the Create Main Category Page button. That will create a page with a list of the Categories linked to the category pages.

Note that the pages will be created in a folder called 'links' within the Max Links program folder.

All links are created using the HTML Link Templates from the Configuration section. You should carefully investigate your links pages after you have created them, to make sure they actually do link to the proper websites. For example, if you used [URL] in the href= portion of the template (instead of [REALURL]), the links will look something like:

www.yourdomain.com/maxlinks/links/www.linkedsite.com

instead of http://www.linkedsite.com

After the pages are created, you may want to put a link on your homepage that goes to the Main category page. This would be maxlinks/links/index.html OR you can move the pages to another desired folder. Assuming you have used "absolute addressing" (i.e., http:// etc) in your header and footer, then there shouldn't be any problem in moving the links pages to wherever you want them.
