Question: why would you need to export or import?

Answer: because you can backup the links that way.

If you want to move your links system to a new server, you'd need to export your links to a text file. You'd need that text file when you moved the system to the new server.

Alternatively, if you want to have your own database of links on your own computer, this is a way to create a TAB-delimited file which most other programs can use to import.

The exported links text file is called maxlinks.txt And the exported categories file is called maxcategories.txt These two files are in the Max Links folder on your website, and need to be FTP'ed to your computer, if you wish to move them physically.

Important Note: if you use Export – Import of Links, it will only export whatever selection is currently in effect.
