Configuring the Max Members System System Configuration. The system configuration is straight-forward. Note the button labeled Configure Membership Levels. Here's what that is. Here’s how you configure the Max Members system: The first few are all relatively straight-forward. Your name and email address, etc. Note the field called Location of Max Members program. This is the URL where you put the Max Members system. It is incredibly important to get this right, because the email that is sent to a customer (when they register) has a link in it, that they must click to verify their registration. And it uses this URL. Example: If you put Max Members in a folder on your www.mydomain.com website called maxmembers, then you'd fill this field with 'www.mydomain.com/maxmembers' and the confirmation URL would be sent as: http://www.mydomain.com/maxmembers/verify.php?id=etc Important: Please note that an ending slash MUST NOT BE present. Then comes "Location of Members Only Pages." You
need to define a web address where members are taken, after they've paid
their yearly membership fees. This web address is NOT an absolute
address (with an http://) Then comes "How many listings per page in control panel?" On the Control Panel for Members, this number represents how many members will appear per page. For example, if there's 300 members registered, you probably don't want all 300 members to appear on the page display. Thus, you can set this to a lower number (such as 60) and you'll only see 60 members per page. Each page will have a Next and Back "button" so you can view all your members. Paypal Purchase Description: When members pay by credit card, the
money goes into your Paypal account which is the email address you enter
into the next field called 'Paypal Account' Paypal Account Name (Email) When members pay by credit card, the money will go to your Paypal account. This is the (email address) name of the Paypal account. All Paypal account names are in the form of an email address. This is the one that receives payment from your members when they pay the yearly fee.
Next on the Configuration page is Header HTML for program pages. And Footer HTML for program pages. This is the HTML code for the header on each page of the members system. It’s how you get the members login/signup pages to match the appearance of the other pages on your website. Each of the Max Members pages will have this header and a footer. In these two fields, you may enter the HTML code for the header and the footer. Note that all href= and all src= html tags must use absolute addressing, i.e., http://something/ Also note the fields called Take Header HTML from this page. And Take Footer HTML from this page. You can use header and footer html from pages that already exist (for example, FrontPage top and bottom borders.) If used, these page must also use absolute addressing.
