Question: why would you need to export or import?

Answer: because you can backup the articles that way.

If you want to move your articles system to a new server, you'd need to export your articles to a text file. You'd need that text file when you moved the system to the new server.

Alternatively, if you want to have your own database of articles on your own computer, this is a way to create a TAB-delimited file which most other programs can use to import.

The exported articles text file is called maxarticles.txt And the exported start pages file is called maxstart.txt These two files are in the Max News folder on your website, and need to be FTP'ed to your computer, if you wish to move them physically.

Important Note: if you use Export – Import of Articles, it will only export whatever selection is currently in effect.
